Mako Sharks Dominated and Win Big at Genocide Memorial Aquatics Tournament 2025

the Rwanda Aquatics Federation organized a powerful and unifying event the
Genocide Memorial Aquatics Tournament 2025 (GMAT 2025). Held in remembrance
of the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994, this annual
tournament served as both a celebration of athletic talent and a solemn tribute
to our national history.
Graced by high-profile guests, the
event welcomed a representative from the Ministry of Sports, the Secretary
General of the Rwanda National Olympic and Sports Committee, and the President
of the Rwanda Aquatics Federation. The atmosphere was charged with emotion and
energy, as over 200 swimmers from nine clubs across the country
competed and cheered on by a large turnout of enthusiastic parents, supporters,
and swimming fans.

Mako Sharks Swim Club emerged as the Overall Champion of GMAT
2025, securing a resounding victory with 2,327 points!
This triumph marks a historic 8th overall trophy for our club a
testament to our continued dominance in Rwandan swimming and the unwavering
commitment of our swimmers, coaches, and community.
